Default Is Sharpsburg safe?

I'm looking for low rent in a good school district. Two kids, one high school and one elementary.I never hear of any crime to speak of on the news in Sharpsburg, the school district is great and the rent is cheap. Is it a safe area for kids?

Sharpsburg is a somewhat gritty, and very urban area (mainly stoop fronted houses, with little or no yards, built very close together, or attached, with very narrow streets). It's definitely not a high crime area, so if you don't mind your kids playing in the streets (as most city kids do), go for it.

As the previous posted stated, it is gritty(not dirty), but pretty safe

I grew up there in the 70's. It was that way then and still is now. I have family that has been there since 1956. Crime really is not an issue.

I can't speak of crime rates, etc. of Sharpsburg, but I did live in neighboring Aspinwall for a while and I would suggest Aspinwall rather than Sharpsburg if you have the financial means. It is a little pricier but much much cleaner and lively. Both are Fox Chapel School District.
