Pittsboig Airport
Must tell ya'll how much I like your airport!
After spending a good 8 hours there, I must say I feel an affinity for it & would glady fly through again anytime!
I was on my way to NY with an hour & a half layover in Pitt.
Well all flights in & out of all NY airports were stopped. (weather - added in answer to dugdog )
After finally taking off after a long delay, we flew half way to NY & had to turn around and come back.
I considered renting an apartment and moving there!
But - after a wonderful drink (a mix of Hurricane & 190 with an extra shot of rum ) I went off exploring. Great kids store! No I don't have kids - I AM one!
The people were friendly, the place was clean, the food options & stores were great, the views outside were nice and it's just the right size; not a monster like Atlanta, Denver or Chicago.
I salute you Pittsburg!
I had a great vacation just in your airport!
If this is a reflection of your city I'd definately like to visit sometime!

Thanks. It's rated one of the best in the world for a reason. I agree with you too, Atlanta and Chicago airports are insane! Wonder why they stopped all flights in to NYC for so long? As for a reflection of our city, that all depends on what you're looking for in a city.

The biggest problem I have with the airport is 6AM flights. Even if you check in over an hour early, it's still very difficult to make. I've missed my flight twice, and once, I barely made it by waiting first in line for the alternate security checkpoint to open.
Showers. Some airports offer shower rentals. Showers could be the greatest amenity any airport could offer.

Probably one of the best and most efficient airports ever built. Great layout, easy navigation. You can never get lost because you just have to keep going straight and you'll end up in the airside terminal from the parking lots. (Straight from the lots or garage, straight through security, straight to the people mover, straight up the escalators, and you're in the main terminal)!

It's a good airport (I'll be flying on it tomorrow), but the fares are way too expensive

Wasn't the airport rehabbed to be a shopping/dining experience for the general public, but then after 9/11 no one but ticketed passengers could go through?

it is really nice but empty... why? You can go there and literally fly through security... no lines!
I remember when I was a college student in Ithaca we use to fly to Pittsburgh and then home to Mexico direct (back in 1996). Now that I live in Pittsburgh, I have to do a few stops to get to Mexico...
What happen? I think the shopping without sales tax is a huge plus.
