Fwiw pat has the same ad agency as septa (has for a few years). The most lucrative station deal was att which is the sports complex...possibly because it seems likely the eyes are more likely to be different everyday. The much busier market east netted less..that's about 12000 riders per day. How many riders per day is station sq? East liberty and wood st might be candidates. The city of philadelphia inked a deal on bus shelter ads as well.

The Wood Street station is already in the free zone though, and there are two busway stops before East Liberty, so it would be hard to make that free-fare.

I was thinking of station renaming that BB referred to, sorry that was not clear. the money doesn't HAVE to be used to make service free (it wasn't in SEPTA's case). depends on the situation.

Oh, I see now. I don't know if that was something that was being considered here, just sponsoring free-fare zones. I only rode the T from the North, erm, Shore once and don't really remember if there were all sorts of reminders that it was sponsored by the Steelers, etc.

The Stillers and Rivers Casino contribute money to ride it for free. Funny but not surprising that the Pirates refuse to contribute.

random tangent*– had my first real-time bus tracker success tonight. Was able to run to an approaching bus around the corner and get home 20 minutes earlier than I planned!

Inside the buses, just recruitment for studies, homeland security paranoia and that weird marriage counseling cartoon. Maybe the Port Authority can't afford a sales and marketing department.
I remember about 15 years ago, there used to be a lot of private business' ads in the interior of a bus. No idea what happened.

SEPTA has sold 2 station naming rights ... PAT needs to sell Marketing/Ads were ever possible, this is the part that makes me scratch my head. PAT always crying "We're Soooooooo Broke", but they don't sell ad space like they should... Buses ride around with No Ads, T Stations have tons of Ad potential ... SEPTA and MTA (NYC) would be maximizing ads in all these spaces.
The T stations certainly have ad potential, but the vehicles themselves have even more.

There used to be a lot more buses and streetcars painted with ads for airlines, radio stations, apartment complexes and even the brand new Dodge lineup. Moving billboards, and with fewer actual billboards that there were in the day, I can see a real demand for it.

I might be incorrect, but I THOUGHT the Authority HAD been trying to sell for years. There are no, or few takers!

I like a clean looking T train, though - instead of plastered with ads and ugly graphics trying to sell savings accounts or burgers.
