Default What is turtle creek like now?

Looking at houses in Turtle Creek, the price is right, but I want to know the general information about turtle creek today. What are the residents like, the school system, the potential to increase equity on the house, and what are the attractions around or in this town. Thanks!

The Mon-Fayette Expressway is the second partitioning of Turtle Creek

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, in its plans to build the final phases of the Mon-Fayette Expressway, has three options for how the roadway will run through Turtle Creek. All of them have one thing in common: They will cut through the center of the borough.

People there are stuck. If they think they are going to be in the roadway why bother to fix up your house when the state will take it away and give you peanuts for it. Meanwhile it gets in worse disrepair every year. I think that expressway has been being planned since the 1960s.

I used to live near Turtle Creek and go there about once a week. That was 20 years ago. I doubt if it's changed. It's like an old neighborhood with poor people, not bad people. Penn Plaza is a small shopping center in the middle of town. It used to have a supermarket and maybe still does. Wilmerding is a neighboring town that is similar.

Woodland Hills School District. Not good. It makes the news every year for the trouble there.
