Default Thornburg school district?

We are looking to buy a house in the Pittsburgh area (want to be close to city) and have been told about Thornburg. How is the Thornburg school district? We like that it's close to the city and if we have to drive the Parkway we don't want to be on it very long. Any thoughts about this area? thanks

Thornburg is in the Montour School District. Montour High School ranks 23rd out of the 64 Allegheny County Schools. I'm not familiar enough with the school district to provide additional comments.

The Parkway West is hell during rush hour. If you're looking for a short commute time, you might want to consider a township in the North Hills.
