Default The people are so friendly in Pittsburgh

Hello,
I just got back from my vacation which was in Pittsburgh, and the
surrounding areas. We had a great time. The first night @ dinner we told the waitress that we were in the south Hills to explore the area to find our future home.someone @ another table heard us telling the waitress, and gave us a coupon for our dinner.
the next day we explored the neighborhoods of Bethel Park,
Mount Lebanon, and we just loved the neighborhoods, but did not see
any grocery stores in the community, and since I do not drive I need someplace with the grocery store in town.
On tuesday we took a taxi to Brentwood. We told the taxi driver
that we wanted to move to the area, and he drove us around Brentwood, whitehall, and told us about Baldwin. He then dropped us off
@ the giant Eagle in brentwood. We walked around Brentwood and whitehall
and this area will be our future home! the people that we met were all friendly, and helpful and proud of where they lived.the grocery store, was
in town,no need to drive.they had buses for local trips,or to the T.It was safe, friendly, beautiful houses, and you can get around without a car.I am looking forward to moving here.
The rest of the vacation,we went via the T into pittsburgh, went to the Phelps gardens(beautiful),we were going to see the museums in the area also ,but the weather turned bad,and headed back to the hotel.
One taxi driver said that he and his wife would be happy to help us
when we finally did move to Pittsburgh.HOW VERY FRIENDLY!
THANK YOU PITTSBURGH,CAN NOT WAIT TO MOVE HERE!

As a NY transplant, I will have to agree that the majority of people in this area are friendly. Glad you had a good visit.

As a former Floridian, I definitely agree the people are very friendly here. I even notice simple little acts of friendliness, such as virtually everyone I pass while jogging on the Montour Trail bothers to say "hello" or "good morning."

But the Pittsburghese accents are starting to get on my nerves after 2 years. It's not a "hoss", it's a "house!"

Haha when I left the area I was able to shed my accent (although I'd still get people asking where I was from on occasion). I am back now and I laugh everytime I hear it because it's just "home" now. I still have friends from out of town that will ask me to "do the accent."
