That's understandable though since it's sort of separated from the rest of North Side.

Bright Heights is more like Bellevue than other areas of North Side.

You can drive to and from Brighton Heights via Ohio River Boulevard and NEVER see other areas of North Side. LOL

Chautauquast is a fellow Perry Hilltop/Observatory Hill defender. I notice he/she pops up whenever anything derogatory is said about the area, and I've decided to join and help. I've lived in Observatory Hill/Perry Hilltop (renting on Marshall Ave., in the process of buying on Observatory Hill, 2 blocks from the business district, such as it is) for the past year and it's been great. I do my laundry in Brighton Heights. The North Side is so underrated, and nowhere near as bad as people seem to think. Vacant houses and black folks do not equal "bad neighborhoods". Take a look around Pittsburgh, outside of Squirrel Hill and Shadyside, it's everywhere. Be glad you're on the ground floor of the revitalization of a great city. I grew up in Richmond,VA when it was the murder capital of the U.S., and now you can't find a house there for under 200k.
