Someone TELL ME that Jose and Tony's is still there? It was the VERY best in the Pre Taco Bell era for fast affordable Mexican food..... Hello there - since No one mentioned it I'll guess they must be gone, but not due to the lack of business.

Are you talking about Jose and Tony's in Dormont? If so, they're still there.

My two cents.
Copanut, Your comment just proves my theory about people from Pittsburgh being so closed minded. Every real mexican restaurant serves unlimited chips and salsa and most of the ones back home serve beans with it too. This is why I don't even bother with this forum anymore because of people like you who get their panties in a bunch over someone saying they want unlimited chips and salsa. Your probably just upset because it's not unlimited fries since that seems to be the chips and salsa of Pittsburgh. My two cents

Wow, whose panties are in a bunch?

I merely stated that personally I would never "freeload" at a bar or restaurant. I expect to pay as I go, one free serving of chips and salsa is fine with me. After that, I have no problem paying for more.

But I always ask for fresh cut lemons to make my own lemonade. Saves me at least 90 cents.

And your comment just proves my theory about people from Portland being whiny, smug, prissy, moonbats. My two cents...

Ahh but you are bothering with this forum. My two cents: you seem to really dislike Pittsburgh and come off as very bitter about living here. I think a lot of your posts are insulting. I don't get how that comment has anything to do with being closed minded. Seems like you just needed a reason to say something negative about Pittsburgh again.

It's not "freeloading". You're paying for your meal, aren't you? So the cost of "free" chips and salsa gets added in to the price of the entree, an extra 5c or so.

Haha. Ok so I've been busy and have just gotten caught up with this forum. WHOA! People got pretty out of hand with the chips and salsa issue. In my opinion, that is what takes me to the Mexican restaurant. If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't go there- just like Texas Roadhouse or Red Lobster for the bread they offer. Therefore, they are making more money because I'm actually coming there to eat.
Also, I went into Mad Mex, took one look at the menu- and that's not what I'm looking for. It's hard to explain I suppose. I'm going to try one of these places tonight I think, so I'll try to let everyone know how it goes!

Fair enough Though it isn't exactly what you're looking for, I would recommend you try the place at least once.....sometime in the future.
