Pittsburgh probably felt more like a big city before they bulldozed all of the neighborhoods near downtown... Now it's basically some tall glass buildings surrounded by urban prairie, a few pockets of urban architecture on the North Side and Strip, and the South Side. At least we're not Cleveland.

^^^ not my perspective at all. and, it doesnt make sense. should they have not bulldozed anything? they would have eventually become ghost towns, shantys, and drug havens.

Or the areas where the demolition occurred could have been gentrified. Instead neighborhoods were destroyed to make room for the highway.

I've seen pictures of what parts of the North Side looked like before the destruction and I think what happened in a damned shame.

Don't think that's a bit of hyperbole? All? Do no other cities have such things happen?

I think this thread has gone on long enough. If you feel there are things that haven't been said here already but that need to be said, start a new thread in the city vs city forum.
Closed.
