Add it to the list to stay away from? If it's because of the alleged car jacking on Wednesday evening, read this.....

"O'HARA TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Questions surround the details in an alleged carjacking in which the victim was shot.Officers were called to a GetGo convenience store on Freeport Road near the Waterworks Mall in O’Hara Township around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.Police said the 54-year-old victim suffered gunshot wound s to his head and chest. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in critical but stable condition.Responding officers said the victim told them he was shot while being carjacked behind the ESB Bank across the street from the GetGo station.During a news conference on Thursday, police said the victim was approached by two men who asked for a ride to the bank. The victim, whose name has not been released, told police when he got to the bank, the men took his own gun and shot him with it before stealing his car. However, police reviewed surveillance video and said there is no evidence supporting the man's story."He said he was forced out of the car at gun point," said Lt. Kevin Kraus of the Pittsburgh Police Department. "He reported he was placed along the rear wall of the bank, where he was robbed at gun point. There certainly are contradictions and inconsistencies from this case."Police who responded to the call found a silver .375 Magnum revolver and a bloodstained jacket from the scene."We are certainly investigating the possibility he shot himself," said Kraus.Police said they would question the man once he is physically able."

That's a city area, not Aspinwall or Fox Chapel. If it had been up to Fox Chapel the Waterworks would never be there. They didn't want the trouble and trash that place attracts. It's part of the Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood and that's why city police were handling the situation. Before St. Margaret Hospital and the Waterworks you never saw Pgh. police in that area or on that side of Allegheny River.

Actually the Allegheny County Police responded. But I'm really confused....isn't the Waterworks considered Aspinwall? When you get off the Highland Park Bridge, and on to Freeport Road, that little community to the left borders Sharpsburg and I'm sure it's considered Aspinwall, I've seen Aspinwall police cars around. So does it go Aspinwall, the back to the city, then Fox Chappel?

Yes, there is a small area on that side of the river that is part of the city proper. Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood.

This is the second or third hoax involving guns and shopping centers in the last year. Not too long ago, a teenage girl said a man tried to abduct her little brother, and that too was a hoax. What's up with this?

Very strange. When you cross the Highland Park Bridge, you see a sign half way across the bridge that says O'Hara Township.

As far as this guy goes, my guess is he didn't want to risk the embarrasment of his suicide attempt not working and decided to lie.

What's the purpose of that sign? I always wonder why it's there. Why not a yellow sign with a smiley face on it?
