"O'HARA TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Questions surround the details in an alleged carjacking in which the victim was shot.Officers were called to a GetGo convenience store on Freeport Road near the Waterworks Mall in O’Hara Township around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.Police said the 54-year-old victim suffered gunshot wound s to his head and chest. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in critical but stable condition.Responding officers said the victim told them he was shot while being carjacked behind the ESB Bank across the street from the GetGo station.During a news conference on Thursday, police said the victim was approached by two men who asked for a ride to the bank. The victim, whose name has not been released, told police when he got to the bank, the men took his own gun and shot him with it before stealing his car. However, police reviewed surveillance video and said there is no evidence supporting the man's story."He said he was forced out of the car at gun point," said Lt. Kevin Kraus of the Pittsburgh Police Department. "He reported he was placed along the rear wall of the bank, where he was robbed at gun point. There certainly are contradictions and inconsistencies from this case."Police who responded to the call found a silver .375 Magnum revolver and a bloodstained jacket from the scene."We are certainly investigating the possibility he shot himself," said Kraus.Police said they would question the man once he is physically able."

I always thought Lincoln-Lemington was on the opposite side of the river. up by the Shuman. This was not the only incident that happened at water works either.

I know. Two years ago a deer broke into Mellon Bank there and eluded the cops for nearly an hour before it escaped.

They should change the name on the O'Hara Twp. sign so we know where we're really going.

What did you do today sweetheart?
The usual. I went to Lincoln-Lemington to do some shopping.

umm... Sewickley is in Allegheny County.
The article you quote is Sewickley Township in Westmoreland County.

I think Sewickley can be left OFF the list...

The Waterworks building and grounds (on which the mall was built) are part of the city of Pittsburgh, that's all. When you cross the bridge you really do enter O'Hara Twp for some small amount of time, before you either go into Aspinwall, Sharpsburg or back into the city of Pittsburgh at the mall. To me it just shows how ridiculous it is to have 130 municipalities in Allegheny County alone.

You know what's really funny? How you guys are so freaking naive. I was basically joking around but, don't get it mixed up these bad things do happen in these " none crime neighborhoods" . I've lived in Pittsburgh for all my life and have gone to waterworks several times when I did live on the east side of Pittsburgh and I have never had problems or witnessed any. Now, if anyone wanted to look at a map to look to see where it was located then fine. Fox Chapel is like on the borderline of water works in fact it's like water works has it own boundary around itself. I guess we could scratch the WATER FRONT off the list too being that it's considered "MUNHALL" and not Homestead. Get over it guys this stuff does happen everywhere.

Default Areas to Avoid near Pittsburgh

Although it is about 40 minutes from the city itself, Beaver Falls in Beaver County is another area to avoid. Nobody but deadbeats going nowhere and wanting nothing live here. Most people are trying to get out. Nothing but drugs users, dealers and prostitutes here. If anyone has been here and wants to come back I would have to question there motives!

^ I agree. Beaver County is by far the worst county in the Pittsburgh Metro area.
