Pittsburgh...Bridgeville
Looking at a rental in Bridgeville. How nice is this area? Any suggestions? Also, had my eye on the link below. It is in East Liberty though. Thanks.

I think East Liberty still has a lot of crime (only 2 murders this year though) and should be avoided. At what Penn Manor is asking you can do a lot better, or similar in a better area. Here's a link to photos of it on a site that doesn't make you join:

I have to agree. If it was me, I would go with Bridgeville long before I would consider East Liberty, mostly because of the crime and gang activity. Bridgeville is a nice, older type community that is revitalizing it's shopping areas. It has easy access to 79 (highway) and the Parkway which is a big plus. It has a large movie theater, restaurants, and a very popular farm market off Rt. 50. Greentree, which is very close to Bridgeville, is another nice area with lots of great apartments available.

East Liberty is a neighborhood in transition and is in the process of becoming gentrified and 'hip'. LOTS of GOOD things happening there right now. They're building a Target, a hotel, condo's at the old Nabisco site along with shops and such. I'd move there before I'd move out to some old fogie town like Bridgeville. But, I'm a city girl, so I'm biased.

With all the affordable places to live in Pittsburgh, I think you'd have to be a little crazy to live in East Liberty right now. It's improving for sure but its got a ways to go still.
