Re: Omaha, Neb. 115.7 sq miles. It has its "compact" areas and its spread out areas, like any other city. I'd say something good about it, but RowJimmy will be on my case.
Why is everyone quoting old posts of mine all of a sudden?

Would you get the hell of my case. Jesus. You are such a pain in my &*%. Seriously. I saw what you posted after somebody else bumped it. Why tell this guy who was considering Pittsburgh all the negatives. Few positives and lots of just negative personal things. Just we are all a bunch of uncosmopolitan hicks, that don't progress or change, that have so many long hot and sticky nights (3 weeks out of the year), and so on.
No positive things. Nothing on how diverse and beautiful the neighborhoods are here. He asked how pederstrian friendly is it. Nothing on how easily walkable this city is. Nothing on the things changing for the good in this city. Nope, just about how our population is declining, we have no N.Y.C. cosmopolitain places like MOST other cities, and so on. You know, having a sprawling growth in suburbs in not good change or progession in my opinion. In my opinion being progressive and changing is having good urban development plans. Hell, Pittsburgh has one of the best urban redevelopment plans in the US, The southside work. Pittsburgh has also been noted by both USA today Magazine, and National Geographic on how great our urban redevelopent was since the steel collapse. We are on the forefront of green buildings (thans somewhat to CMU). We have the largest LEED building, the most LEED buildings, and soon the tallest one. Did you mention to the guy on anything about that?
What is cosmopolitan anyways? Is it fancy expensive places? It is theaters and Museams? It is outdoor wine bars? Places with tons of expensive belgium beers? Having a MTV real world house? What?
Comopolitain is having something in common with the whole world by dictionary terms. Most likely that will only happen in N.Y.C., L.A., and Chicago. Of course we're not. We got great culture though, and I stick by that.

I am getting very suspicious. That quote that RowJimmy found is from way back, farther back than my computer goes when I look for old posts. What is going on? Will someone enlighten me?

As to the original question, the city is NOT pedestrial friendly, in fact its pedestrian evil.
The crime isn't very bad. There are of course bad areas and good areas, like most any city.
