Default Moon/Pittsburgh Areas- Asian population

Hi, we are relocating and looking for some good asian restaurants and shops/grocers. We'll be living in the area of the airport, so I don't really want to drive the southwest side of Pittsburgh. Any info would be great. My husband is Vietnamese so any Pho places would be great news. I would like to be able to buy some of the normal things that I cook with for him so a grocery/market that has reasonable prices would be nice. Is there a neighborhood like China Town (Seattle, Portland, OR, NYC) or Little Saigon (CA) in Pittsburgh? I've read of a Little Italy, just wondering about the Asian influence. We're coming from Oregon so we're used to a lot of local eateries that have an asian influence and since we won't be near his family I'd like our children to be able to still hear some Vietnamese from other people too.

Thanks for any info!

Also wondering about Costco and Sam's Club, which is bigger and which has better prices?

Thanks!
Sara

While there are asian restuarants out that way, I don't think there is a large asian population there.

The places in Pgh that have asian populations would be some of the east end areas (Oakland, Shadyside) and I see a good number in Mt Lebanon. There are asian grocery stores scattered throughout the Pgh region with the largest number in the Strip District just off of Downtown Pgh.

I have to agree with Raynist. There is a larger Indian (India) population out this way than asian.

With Sam's vs. Costco's, I'm not sure which one is bigger but after shopping in both stores, I think Sam's has lower prices. There is not as much of a selection but the fee to join is lower and the prices are lower in general.
