OK, I didn't see the red circle the first time around. I did walk past those offices back in January and saw no dino there. Scientist Mom, if you wouldn't mind giving the area a good once over next time you wait for the bus just to be sure, I'd really appreciate it. My guess is it's been moved since mr. davon saw it last.....what a shame. Thanks to both of you for the tips. Man these things are elusive. It's as if I'm hunting endangered species or something..........LOL!

There was one on the Corner of s.Bellefield and Forbes also. I drive past this everyday. The Pittsburgh board of education sits there also. As for the other one I apologize it's been sitting there for every and if the removed it, it must have been done in the past couple of months.

Thanks, I already have the one on S. Bellefield. I might try to contact the medical business next to the pharmacy and see if anyone there knows anything......at least it's a lead. Maybe they've taken it inside or moved it to another location. Thanks for the info anyway! Any info I get ia a help.

i came upon this thread cause i was thinking of hunting down the public dinos and taking some photos with them! what a fun scavenger hunt - and a great way to explore the city! here's one to add: there is a patchwork dino on washington's landing - the island under the 31st street bridge - if you drive onto the island by car, go right down to the southern-most tip of the island. it's right there at the end of the cul-de-sac! happy hunting!

Thank you, I already have that one on my list. We actually came across this one accidently a couple of years ago while riding the bike trail that runs alongside the river and up onto Herr's Island. It's one of my favorites. If you're interest in seeing my entire list, check out my group on Facebook(In Search of Pittsburgh Dinosaurs) and my photo set on Flickr shows all the pics we've taken so far. Please, let me know if you find any others! Thanks again.

Default Found another one!

Hey everybody, I found another dinosaur....very near my parents home of all places. My step-mom told me the other night that there is one on Thomas Road in McMurray standing alongside a very long driveway to a nice home. I haven't seen it yet and it may be a while until I can get out there and take a look so if anyone lives in that area or knows someone in that area, please, check it out for me. If you were driving on Thomas Road towards McMurray (from the direction of where Waterdam road meets Thomas road), then it apparently is about 1 mile from the Waterdam/Thomas intersect. I can't remember whether she said left or right side, but she said it was a very long driveway and the dino was standing on 2 feet, therefore it must be a T-rex. Thanks to anyone who can offer me info on this one.

I am new to Pittsburgh but was visiting back in 2003 when the dinosaurs were all over the city. Now I am looking for and photographing them myself. I have a photo album on facebook and have been been "pinning" them on Google Earth. Some of the Dinos seem to be mobile however. I have photographed the following:

#24 Bill (or #25 Dolly) Dollarsuarus -- Point Breeze
#38 Spectrasaurus -- Shadyside
#42 Ketchupsaurus -- photographed at PPG Place
#45 Fredasaurus Rex -- WQED television station on 5th Avenue
#58 Mr. Dig -- photographed at PPG Place
#61 Phillipsaurus -- photographed at PPG Place
#69 Alphabetosaurus -- across Forbes from Carnegie Museum
#92 Seymour Sparklesaurus -- Western PA School for Blind Children
#93 Cogitatio Aeterna -- Looking the worse for wear on Centre Ave about 1-2 blocks west of Whole Foods.

I am aware of:

#13 Creation Rex at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh
#30 DinerSaurus at Eat'n Park corporate office (inside) in Homestead

There is a T. Rex in Franklin Park that looks to be brown and may be #5 Geniusaurus Rex with the wings removed but not sure yet. I will look for others that have been described here.

Hello dhartling! Thanks. Wow, it's great that someone else is looking for them as well. I appreciate the help and feel free to E-mail me if you find anymore or have any questions regarding what I've found. I don't think I've heard of the Franklin Park one, where is that exactly? In case you didn't see my complete and updated list, I've posted it again below, with your new info added. Also, here is a link to my Flickr page that has photos of the ones I've visited personally, and they are all pinned there on Flickr's map. Pittsburgh dinosaur sculptures - a set on Flickr

In addition I have a formed a facebook group called "In Search of Pittsburgh Dinosaurs" that is open to FB members in the Pittsburgh network. It's pretty slow and has only a few members but please join it so it can get some exposure and hopefiully achieve finding some of the more elusive dinos.

I did finally visit the Transitsaurus out in Robinson but haven't posted photos of that. I will soon. He was adorable, in very good condition too. He looked so small standing out in the middle of this huge yard with little else around. Thank you Mugato for that tip, I'm so glad I finally got to see him.

This auction results Web page seems to list locations of the dinosaurs. Click on each dinosaur's name for the "fossil location." But perhaps I'm reading this information incorrectly; maybe these were the locations during the actual DinoMite Days event.
