Pittsburgh Dinosaurs
Hello all, I'm hoping I can get some assistance from other Pittsburghers here. You all know of the dinosaur sculptures that were created in 2003 for the Carnegie Museum fundraiser? Well, I didn't move into the city until after they were displayed and auctioned off so I missed out on seeing most of them up close. My boyfriend and I would like to visit as many of these sculptures as possible and take our picture with them but since they are all now privately owned, most of then have long ago been moved and the Carnegie maintains no record of their whereabouts. I've seen a few here and there but considering there were 100 hundred of these dinos made, the few I've seen are just a fraction of the original count. I realize I won't be able to see all of them but I'd like to see as many as I can. So, if anyone knows the current location of any of the dinosaur sculptures, please, let me know where and what it looks like. Be sure to note if it's inside a building or on private/residential property so I can be respectful and obtain proper permission to view it. Thanks in advance for any info offered! Also, for those of you on Facebook, I've started a group dedicated to my search. If you're interested, it's called "In Search of Pittsburgh Dinosaurs" and it's open to anyone on the Pittsburgh network. Thanks again and good weekend to everyone!

Last time I was in the area ('06), there was one on Haymaker near Center in Monroeville, at a funeral home. Do not recall the name of the home.

One in Oakland across the street from Carnegie music hall and one in front of Shady Lane preschool (I think this is one) intersection of Braddock and Penn. Both of these would be okay for photos

One in Oakmont on Pennsylvania Ave. and around the top of the hill, right beside dark hollow woods.
It's gold.

The "Mister Rogers" dinosaur is in front of the WQED building, 4802 Fifth Avenue on the border of Shadyside and Oakland. He's wearing a red sweater. You can take your picture in front of it.

This is the one if front of Tickets for Kids in Aspinwall.
They do good work. Any season ticket, Pirates, Steelers, Pens, Opera, Symphone, Theather, you name it, they can recycle them and give to the underprivileged.
I donated a ton of tickets over the years and we would always receive thank-you notes from the recipients. Tear your heart out.
However, the last few years of donating Pirates tickets started me thinking, These kids have it so rough, why make it worse by sending them to a Bucco game.

I was actually wondering about this, too!
Aside from the ones already listed:
-Ellsworth Avenue, somewhere between Morewood and Neville (but I think it's closer to Devonshire)
-Centre Avenue between Negley and Highland
-One of the T Stations downtown - Wood Street, maybe?
Good luck, and let me know if you find anymore!

There's one in Homestead at the Waterfront, in front of the Eat & Park. There's also one inside the Carnegie Natural History Museum. Used to be right in front of the museum store, although it had moved when I was there (last week).
The one on Centre is a little hidden -- it's in the parking lot of GPOA.

I think there is one on Blvd of the Allies downtown and one by the fountains/skating rink at PPG place.
