Default Where are the best places to live in Pittsburgh...

I am trying to find the best area for me to relocate. I lived in Colorado most of my life so things like hiking, biking are something I would like to continue. I would also like to live in a safe are, especially since I am used to very little crime. Price is not a concern of mine however my younger brother, who will be in high school, will be moving in with me so I would also like a good school district. I do have a dog and plan to get another once I am settled. If you have any recommendations I would greatly appriciate it. Thank you.

squirrel hill or shadyside would give you lots of very nice places to live and some of the cities best neighborhoods. You would also have easy access to Frick Park for biking and walking your dog.

Peters Township, south of Mt. Lebanon or Upper St. Clair.

Peters Township: great schools, very safe, close to highways (79/70) for a getaway.

Stay away from the city until your brother is out of school.

Wexford. Very good school district. Little ways from the city if you want to be close to downtown - can get there in 25 minutes outside of rush hour. Close to a large park.

Robinson Township area is great. Near the airport and highways yet has nice neighborhoods. Montour is the school district. You can head out towards Raccoon state park for recreation.

Actually I didn't state there were no off leash areas. Sorry I didn't spell it out for people like yourself, but lets reword it..................."If you use Frick Park, please obey the "All Dogs Must be on a Leash" signs when you are not in one of the three off leash areas". How's that?

Yeah, you wouldn't want your brother to attend nationally respected schools like Allderdice or CAPA.
