Well, just what is the accepted definition of diversity? I would certainly think it includes more than black and white native English speaking people.

Webster's definition of diversity - variety. What is the big deal if Pittsburgh doesnt have as much diversity as other cities? Should this have racist implications as some seem to be suggesting? It would seem to me that those who hold to this view may be racists themselves. If you are unhappy with the diversity or lack there of in Pittsburgh or its suburbs than simply move to a place where there is more diversity.

I do not live in Pittsburgh and I do not appreciate the implication that I am a racist. The topic of discussion is "is Pittsburgh diverse"? NOT, should one live in Pittsburgh? You seem to have answered the first question with a "no" answer, which is what some of us have been saying.

I never directed my comments to you per say, but to those who have warranted such an implication. I stand by what I said Again, I will ask why Pittsburgh has to be as diverse as any or every other place on earth. This doesnt make it a racist city only because its more white than some people would like which would seem to indicate racism on their part If its not as diverse as someone would like than hit the road.

I'm not sure who in this discussion warrants that designation. I have not seen any racist comments in this particular discussion. I have seen stuff on the Pgh forum about how Pittsburgh doesn't need "uneducated, troublemaking immigrants". I'm not sure you are qualified to look into people's hearts and decide they are racists because they said Pittsburgh isn't very diverse.

I can assure you that there is a prevailing anti-white attitude from those who are decrying the white as bread Pittsburgh general populous. I think you need to read the posts again and read between the lines. Its very obvious and yes these culprits have warranted this designation.

The title of the thread is Pittsburgh misconceptions. The discussion was about a misconception that Pittsburgh doesn't have a lot of diversity. Just FYI.
