Anyone visit the Mercedes dealership?
What part of Pittsburgh is the Mercedes-Benz dealer located in? I am a technician going for an interview next friday, and will also be checking out the area for possible apartment rentals. The address is 4709 Baum Blvd.
Is this a nice area?
Is the dealership a nice place, or a dive?
Is there affordable apartments and public transportation in the area?

Baum Blvd is essentially part of the Pitt/CMU "college town." It's a bit of an old town and might LOOK a bit sketchy in some areas, but it's really not. Living there is not expensive at all and it has easy access to some of the best places around the city, including the Market District for groceries. There are many places to rent that you could easily walk to work if you wanted.
Yes on public transportation, TONS and TONS of buses on Baum
And the dealership is not a dive at all and you have some stiff competition on that same Blvd.
The Blvd itself is kinda long and smack in the middle of a mix of places. You have Shadyside on one side, an extremely "high society" jewish community, then you have Friendship on another side, an eclectic little town full of interesting coffee houses and art galleries, then Bloomfield on another side, which is Pittsburgh's "little italy."

To be honest.... I'm not sure what city it's considered to be in. PROBABLY Shadyside. But like I said, Baum is smack in the middle of several cities.
It's very close to downtown Pittsburgh

It might be Shadyside, or Friendship, or Bloomfield. It's hard to tell - that area is on the border of several neighborhoods.
