Jeez, pez, a challenge.
Well, I am not awake enough to provide data, but as for where I've been, and where I'm going, that's not too hard. I've lived in New York City, on and off much of my life; New England, 3 different States: CT, MA, RI; New Mexico most recently, and 3 countries in Europe (in cities all on the same scale as NYC for their country); and a wee moment or two in NC as a student.
I am what you might call over-educated as I have several degrees, and they all carry initials. hence it is really important to me to be able to engage in lively and yes, challenging conversation(s) - and I have met some very interesting folks here from all walks of life--some of whom are intriguing, others exceptionally entertaining, and a fairly good number who are bright as new pennies and stimulating.
And, one of my disappointments in New Mexico: food, is much improved here with more than one grocery choice and that awesome Strip District and its market (can't wait to get there tomorrow and buy my daughter those olives she is craving in her pregnancy).
I find Pittsburgh very friendly, small enough that I've already met three families on my impermanent neighbourhood street--all of whom have gone out of their way to assist me and make me welcome. The city is filled with art opportunities (one of my passions); convenient enough that I can see something other than a city in any of four directions; a sufficient number of museums (and in fact the Natural History museum has the largest Jurassic collection in the world, I believe); plentiful sponsors for new programs (see POP for the Heinz endeavors); the architecture is varied and intriguing; the sky views are magnificent; the waterways soothing...and more.
And all that without my first cup of coffee!

For a city it's size, Pittsburgh has a lot of cultural arts. Most cities with this population don't have this advantage. We can thank the likes of Andrew Carnegie who felt it was important to establish these institutions in Pittsburgh. Find me other cities with population sizes similar to Pittsburgh that has what Pittsburgh has in this regard, PittNurse.

Are you looking for validation that you hate Pittsburgh and love Omaha (or Denver, or wherever else it is you live)? If so, you might have better luck in the Omaha forum. Or it might be easier to just decide to be happy with your own opinion and not worry so much that a lot of people you don't know who live in Pittsburgh *gasp* actually. like. living. here. Why do you care so much what we think anyway?
After all, you don't find me over in the Omaha forum, demanding to know why people there don't love Pittsburgh, and claiming that they'd hate Omaha if they weren't so provincial and had actually been anywhere else in the world, and demanding to know what justification they had for loving Omaha. I could, you know, because I've been to Omaha, and from what I remember of it, it was a flat, boring city surrounded by 500 miles of corn fields, and the whole place smelled like the back end of a cow. But, I won't go post that over in the Omaha forum, because that would be a bit rude, and well, frankly a little crazy. And I just really don't give a crap whether anyone wants to move to Omaha. If they want to live in a city that smells like the back end of a cow instead of Pittsburgh, good for them. To each his own.
So, given that, why are you over here in the Pittsburgh forum? Why do you care why anyone likes Pittsburgh rather than Omaha? Why does it matter so much to you?
If we all tell you that yes, you've changed our minds - Pittsburgh sucks, all the nice statistics about it are "lies", everyone here is dying or moving away, and we can't wait to leave too for the magical fabulous city of Omaha Nebraska, will that make you happy?

I think I can probably bet another thing. If we go and head to Colorado and Nebraska forums and ask around anyone who has visited or spent time in Pittsburgh what they think of the city.
I guarentee you that many will have nice things to say about it.

Pittnurse,
You tell readers that you are "tired of reading these posts" that enthusiastially sing the praises of Pittsburgh without a basis for comparison. Yet, here are quotes from one of your posts:

It appears you are creating the very type of posts that you condemn. You use these types of egregious generalizations, and yet you're tired of reading posts proclaiming Pittsburghers are friendly?
Then, when readers assume that you don't like Pittsburgh (a fair and reasonable assumption, given the nature of your posts), you counter with "I didn't say that." Give me a break. That type of argumentative tit-for-tat is just daft.

Omaha is the only city you can come up with for a comparison?
Omaha's Joslyn Art Museum: 11,000 works of art
Pittsburgh's Carnegie Museum of Art: 30,770 works of art

When I have more time today, I'll provide additional information on the arts for both cities.

And truthfully I don't think anybody here has ever tried to say Pittsburgh is better than Omaha. I'm sure Omaha is lovely city (minus the skyline).
In my humble opinion, I would feel completely isolated from life in Nebraska. Despite Ohama having a higher population than Pittsburgh, I thrive on weekend trips and being so close to Canada and less a 6 hour drive from DC, Baltimore, Cincinnatti, Cleveland, Toronto, and Philidelphia. Just over 6 hours for NYC and Chicago. Pittsburgh, surrounded by the three rivers and the gorgeous skyline and mountains is something Nebraska can't offer me.
I've been to the midwest and truthfully, I would always feel like "I need out" rather than "I need in"
On this forum people are praising Pittsburgh based on Pittsburgh and the people that live here. Never once have I attacked another place or city.

Then GO AWAY. Nobody is making you read anything. If you can't abide other people's opinions, don't indulge in them. It's really that simple.
