There once was a bridge in the western south hills that was a fortyfive degree angle. It was old and rickety but was in operation back in 1980. I'm quite sure it's gone now, I'm just trying to figure out where it was. Somewhere near Heidelberg I believe.

I remember that one! Out of Heidelberg you would head on Greentree Road, but make a sharp right and up the hill! I liked that bridge... fun memories. (I'm finally home in Oakdale for a week or so--had to ask my dad where it was.)

My father always told us some urban legend story about Pittsburgh having a championship baseball team? The thought of Pittsburgh having a pro baseball team is laughable - this is obviously just my dad losing his sense of reality as he grows older....

U are not alone... I heard the same story about a Professional baseball team in Pittsburgh, but I've researched & gone back a full 16 YEARS & I can't find any proof !!... Your Dad must either be pulling your leg, or it's early signs of dementia.....Later

Nah, that's true. I was at all the home playoff games in 90, 91, and 92. You knew the way the league was changing that it would be a while before they got to the playoffs, but I never thought it would be 16 years.
It's sad the almost 2 generations of kids have never seen winning baseball in this town.
Here's a urban legend, what was the reason Steve Blass lost his control and left the game in his prime?

Was is a terrible word. Thanks for verifying this unique Bridge. If I hadn't seen it/driven on it myself, I'd have NEVER known.
So, another one from South Western PA via Minnesota huh? I thought I was unique, like that bridge, but I still exist. What town are you in here?? Are you above or below 94? I consider us to be in North Central but it's a close call.
And about Oakdale!!! Me and my friends used to hang out along the Rail Road Tracks (there were stone quaries) and have bon-fires and kegs o brew. The area was below Webb Field. Even the local cops would come back and take a look, but never any trouble. I can't tell you how many lock-ed up memories are flooding back into my refreshened brain cells. Who hasn't been to Oakdale, home of Pittsburgh's one and only Nike Site.

My favorite Pittsburgh urban legend is how much of a dying hellhole of a city it is. I guess that's more of an urban legend outside of Pittsburgh, prevalent among people who've never been here (or even seen a picture) or lived here decades ago.

Another urban legend is the number of trolls. I guess it has to do with all the bridges.
