New job around the airport
I have a job offer at a company that is located in Clinton, PA. All I know about it is that it is west of the airport.
Does anyone know anything about it? I believe the location is right on Route 30.
HELP!
Thanks in advance.
PS - Where would one buy a home around there? Are there any particular areas or neighborhoods and are considered better than the others? We can afford a pretty substantial amount, but I'm not sure if we are going to rent or buy first since we have only been to Pittsburgh a few times before.

Clinton is pretty small. Depends what kind of life you are looking for as to where to buy a home. If it were me, I'd buy in Moon Township or Robinson Township. Lots of amenities in both townships and easy commute to Clinton (15 minutes?)

I agree. Buy in Moon or Robinson. They are both good suburbs. I live near Robinson and like the area. Easy access to the city too by way of the parkway west (as long as it's not rush hour).

I have to chime in here and agree with the other two posters. I also live in Robinson but used to live in Imperial, near Clinton. Clinton is a one stop light little town. Very rural. Mostly farm type homes or older homes. Robinson township is within 10 to 15 minutes of the airport. Robinson is the shopping area for parts of West Virginia, Ohio, and most people within a 10 mile radius in PA. Moon is close as well and is building up some. Both have housing plans if that is your thing.

Does anyone happen to know the zip codes? I am looking up homes on Realtor.com. Thanks again.

I disagree. If you're working in Clinton, you don't have to live in Allegheny County where the taxes are higher. Instead, look into Peter's Township in Washington County. The taxes are lower. The school district is better. It's within reasonable distance to large shopping areas in Allegheny County. It's a growing area. Many upper-middle-class families have moved/are moving from Upper St. Clair and Mt. Lebanon across the county line into Peter's Township to save on property taxes.

Peter's Township is also known as McMurray PA. One zip code is 15317. It might have other zip codes within the township, not sure.

If working in Clinton and looking to avoid Allegheny County taxes, Beaver County would be your best bet, look towards Hopewell if that is the case. Parts of Washington County aren't that far away, but it would have to be northern Washington County, Peters would be a bit of a ride.

Yes, you'd be very close to Beaver County. Brighton Twp, Center Twp are two suggestions. Right on Rt. 60, probably 20 min. or less to the airport.

I'll defer to your expertise. I don't know those counties well enough to make confident recommendations.
I get the feeling that the OP would prefer a more upscale area that is within reasonable distance to good shopping. I've never had the impression that Beaver offered those things since it's a very depressed county. However, I conscede that may simply be a negative reputation and not reality.
Of course, if you have the money, you can buy something nice anywhere --- even more for your money in outlying areas. Where is the shopping in Butler county?
Peters Township and Cranberry Township will both be a 45 minute commute for him. Depending on where he lives now, that might not be a bad commute.
I'd like to hear more details on what the OP wants --- township, school district, shopping, lower taxes, etc.
