Anyone know what happened to the 31A Crafton-Carnegie bus?
I am going to be moving to an apartment in Carnegie in another week and i saw there was a bus stop for a 31A Crafton-Carnegie bus at the end of my street. I tried to look for a schedule for it downtown, but came up with nothing. Then i tried searching for it on their website and couldn't find info on 31A there either.
Is the 31A bus still running or what happened to it?
I need to find out soon cuz i need to take the bus into town for work. Luckily, i can also walk to the park n ride and take either the 33X or the 100 which run pretty often, but it's just gonna suck more cuz that's like 3 blocks away from my apartment.
Thanks.

Looks like it was one of the many buses they cut.
Here is a link to the schedules on Port Authority's website. Go to NEIGHBORHOOD, go to the drop down menu and pick "Crafton" and see what all your possibilities are now. Or you can just call Port Authority's customer service department, which I'm sure the number is somewhere on this website also.

My Mother told me PAT will be restructurring its Route system soon...But if you're not that far from the Busway, then more likely you will be using it more then the 31A, which is why the 31A is no longer.

Guess another piece of my past is gone forever. When I was a kid, I'd take the 31A into town fairly regularly, to go to baseball games or just to explore town. The fare was a whopping 40 cents back then. The stop in town was across from then Hornes Department Store, I can remember waiting for that bus soooo many times...

Not to sound like too much of a crank, but when I was in high school (which was only 8 years ago), I had to walk about 8 blocks (3/4-mile) to catch the bus each morning. Three is not bad for a city without a really expansive transit system, especially in the West End. The 100 and 33X are both really fast, too, in comparison to the 31A which probably meandered through the neighborhoods a bit.

Yeah, i thought that maybe it was cut. Thanks guys! I am sure the 3 block walk won't be bad, i was just hoping there would also be an alternative for when the weather is not great (such as in the Winter).
