You seriously believe that? EVERY twp/boro/city in this area has drug problems.
And don't forget, part of the Fox Chapel School District is the high end Indiana Township, home of that upstanding family, the Korbe's.

I'm so glad you brought up the Korbe's family, COPANUT!
First off, Indiana Township is not the high end of Fox Chapel School District. If you think so, you don't know the area very well. Secondly, Korbe's legal and illegal businesses were located in Sharpsburg.
For the OP, the Korbe's family is a family that lived in part of the Fox Chapel School District that has middle class and upper middle class residents. The Korbe's family earned their place there by being high level drug dealers. The husband owned a legal business in Sharpsburg that was a front for his drug business. When the FBI went to their house for a drug raid, Mrs. Korbes shot and killed an FBI agent.
The Korbes could have bought a house anywhere. They could have owned a house in Hampton even. Where they lived is really irrelevant. What's relevant is that the Korbes chose to run their drug business in Sharpsburg. Impoverished areas are the heart of drug industry. Anyone who thinks otherwise is clueless. And don't think for a minute that Korbe's arrest ended drugs in Sharpsburg.

Read my subsequent posts. Fox Chapel has a significant impoverished population attending the schools. There's a difference in how drug problems present in poor and wealthy populations. You are focusing on my use of the word the 'element' as if I simply meant 'drugs' but I meant impoverished drug users, junkies, and people who resort to theft and violent crimes to obtain money for their drugs. That element isn't as prevelant in townships where there isn't as much poverty among the population.
There's a huge difference between Fox Chapel and Hampton. Hampton is a solid upper middle class township. Fox Chapel might have rediculous wealth, but that wealth is a small percentage of the school district's population and mostly clustered near the boro. Furthermore, the Hampton school system ranks higher than Fox Chapel.

Hopes,
I don't want to get into a pi$$ing match with you. Merely saying that I doubt that Hampton is anymore drug free than Fox Chapel. You can argue that the so-called low life in Sharpsburg may be the dealers at the school, but sometimes it's the rich kids that deal.
As to value, I see 6 homes in the last 6 months sold in Indiana Twp ranging from 529K to 649K.
As to Korbe, I was merely pointing out that skank drug dealers are everywhere, even Hampton.
If you think moving from FC SD to Hampton will eliminate drugs, you are poorly mistaken.

I never said Hampton is drug free. I think the OP will understand what I'm trying to explain.

That isn't an accurate representation of Indiana Township. Indiana Township is a vast area that goes near Route 8 (Saxonburg/Middle Road), up past Route 910 and over towards Harmarville. The Korbe's house was located just off Middle Road---nowhere near a half a million dollar neighborhood.

We all know that. We also know that we'd have a better chance of finding someone selling drugs on a street corner in Sharpsburg than a street corner in Hampton on any random street corner at any random time.

I don't think that. I just feel that people have a right to know the demographics for each township.

I appreciate everyone input!
Hopes, I feel the same in that I do not think I would find the same charm in the lack of bus service for the public schools, either. Duly noted all that you have extended about your opinion on your views of Hampton vs. Fox Chapel SD.

Oh they sure do. I hear that marywana is smoked up there by these white suburb ganster kids.
You got to watch yourself with drugs. In the city it is everywhere, but in the suburbs most people don't even know what they are.
In all seriousness. Drugs are everywhere man. The upper large suburban housing plans to the ghetto public housing. If you really think living in a certain suburb is going to keep your kids away from drugs than you are naive. Only your parenting and teaching kids about drugs will keep them away from it.
There are so many people that move to the suburbs to keep their kids away from things. Then are to ignorant to the subjects like drugs or teenage sex to talk to their kids about it. Then they find their kid at 18 high on acid talking about flying lizards and a joint in his pocket..............not one of my personal experiences.

How do you search on MLS (realtor.com) for homes in the Peters Township area? When you type in the name, it doesn't bring any results, when you type in the zip code (15317) you get places like Cecil and North Strabane, etc.
