Yes absolutely... It is you... I would recommend some deep breathing or perhaps some yoga! All that anger will endanger your long term health. Nothing happened here dude, nothing at all except for you losing your sanity... Seriously... here's the thread
OP: How's Bethel Park for black guys... any help would be appreciated
YOU: wtf... Klu Klux Klan... stay out a western pa... rev wright
ME: Dude you seem a little angry
YOU: More angry rambling about Wexford, Cranberry, Robinson, and progressives. And then something about East Liberty and black people jumping all over white people.
Seriously... you gotta be joking around... right?

If you want to quote me and actually debate my post, then be a man and do so. Don't chop up what I wrote, try to claim that as reality, then dismiss me as "angry". If you were expecting to get away with that type of immature behavior, then you are wrong.

It's a very low crime, quiet, family-orieted suburban community. What I bet you did do is see on wikipedia that like 96% of Bethel Park is white and you made bigoted assumptions about the people of the community based on that. That's pretty sad. We certainly don't need people like that in western PA. glad you left uniontown. stay in chicago. tell rev. wright i said what's up.

kidjudge,
i would suggest living far away from this guy. then you should be okay.
the overwhelming amount of racism, homophobia, and general ignorance i've seen on this board has made me deeply regret my decision to move to pittsburgh.

raynist -- Thanks for catching that. I didn't know St. Clair Village was a public housing project until your post.
StrangeLight -- Matt & Nuff are not representatives of all Pittsburghers.
Zip -- Thanks for the laughs. You nailed it with fantastic humor!

hopes, i know not everyone is like those two, but i've been reading this forum for a few weeks and i'm sad to say that my impression is quite negative. not everyone is maliciously hateful like matt or nuff, but the ignorance and fear of the unknown is really noticable to me, as an outsider.
things like "stay away from the very black neighborhoods" or "why do gay people have to FLAUNT it in my face by holding hands?" just... really turn me off. i truly hope that you and zip and some of the others i've read here are more representative of pittsburghers than the litany of other posters who express anything from fear to outrage at people who are different from themselves.
and matt, just to make it perfectly clear: the reason kidjudge has to ask which neighbourhoods are tolerant of african americans is because of people like you.

I understand what you're saying. I don't feel they represent the majority. If they do, the majority is dying off quickly because there is a significant elderly population in Pittsburgh. I'm not discounting that Pittsburgh has its problems, but I assure you that there are more Zips and Hopes in Pittsburgh.
I'm disappointed when I hear people compare Pittsburgh to other parts of the country. California is all about policial correctness, but the Californians I have met are very racist people. They just keep it hidden. Then we have people compare Pittsburgh to the deep south and you'd think they were describing California---as if Pittsburghers are merely being politically correct.

That's not necessarily racist advice. I moved into a mostly black neighborhood and I was NOT welcome. I was constantly intimidated, chased, and the windows of my apartment were shot out. Things became dangerous enough I had to move. Sadly, Pittsburgh is still rather segregated and our most of the predominantly black neighborhoods can be very dangerous because they are among the most impoverished neighborhoods attracting a significant amount of illegal activity. People of all races will warn people to not move into some of our neighborhoods.

So...I'm racist, ignorant, and also a homophobe now? I think you forgot to call me a warmonger too. What a new and unique way of silencing someone that you disagree with. Let's hope this sort of thing catches on. Free speech and diverse opinions is certainly not what we want America to be about. I'm glad we have people like you and your ilk to tell everyone who is representative of Pittsburgh and to make up claims of racism and gay-bashing against anyone you don't like.

i get what you're saying, hopes. but the difference between warning someone away from a neighbourhood because it's dangerous vs. warning them away from it because it's mostly black... even if the neighbourhood is dangerous and black, black being the choice descriptor is... well. it tells me a lot about the person offering the advice, that's all.

oh i'm sorry. do you feel i'm being intolerant towards your intolerance? i will work on that. i never accused you of being homophobic, merely that i'd read homophobic remarks all over this board, which i stand by. i did accuse you of being racist, though. you're right on point with that one and you have yet to utter a word to convince me otherwise.
when someone asks if a neighbourhood is tolerant of african americans and you bring up the klan and tell him to stay in chicago and stay out of western pennsylvania, that's the "diverse opinion" i should be respecting? you have every right to say what you feel on this board, and i have every right to call 'em as i see 'em in return.
your diverse opinion is that someone can't ask about the attitudes of a particular neighbourhood. you ARE the guy the OP wouldn't want to live next door to. of course you don't see the racism in your community, because you don't see your own either.

Are you on drugs or something??? I was saying that to even be concerned with Bethel Park is ridiculous. Did you not get that? I wasn't saying the KKK was going to get him if he moved to Bethel Park! Good Lord! Where does all this stuff about intolerance come from? Where does this stuff about racism and homophobia come from??? I mean, are we both on the same threat here or something? I don't know what you're reading, because I never said anything that was racist or intolerant. My only "rude" comment was that if the OP thought that Bethel Park isn't a good place for blacks because it has a large white population, then he should keep that type of attitude in chicago. You turned this into something...I dunno. Something crazy. And nobody once even mentioned anything about gay people, so I have no idea where that came from either. But hey, whatever man. Whatever meds you're on must make life seem pretty exciting, huh?
