Friendship Township Pittsburgh pros and cons for families
We are interested in a diverse and creative community to live with our 2 year old, but safe with a good school district. I have heard mixed things about Friendship and was wondering if anyone out there might provide some insight?

Do a search and you will find a recent thread about Friendship. I agree it is sort of a mixed bag. Some nice big homes and some that are chopped up into apartments. I think it is an improving area because Penn Ave. and East liberty are both getting nicer. Also, Childrens is coming soon and will help. I am not sure how diverse it is. I won't go into the schools because some people love city schools and others don't.

Friendship is a nice city neighborhood for families. They have a fun, funky community organization there. Parts are a little dodgy and it's not as pretty and well tended as some other family oriented neighborhoods. Other neighborhoods to check out include Highland Park to the north and Regent Square to the southeast of Friendship. Coming from your zip code, you might also want to look at Shadyside - it borders Friendship to the southeast. Sorry, can't help you with the schools besides knowing that there are some good private schools in Shadyside. Best of luck with your move!

The parents in Friendship seem to be really organized and involved with the schools their children attend. Contrary to popular opinion, lots of children attend city schools and do very well. A lot of it has to do with parental involvement in the schools.

You said the "township" of Friendship, do you mean the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Friendship?

I'm going to Pittsburg coming from Enon Valley, where I will be staying. Anyone have any good suggestions on good places to visit in the pittsburg area?

Try adding an H to the city name when you do some research.
It all depends on your interests and if you are coming alone or with children and what not. I'd recommend taking the incline up to Mt. Washington in any situation though.
