Nobody really speaks it all like that anymore like they used to 30 years ago or more, but go here and go to the glossary of terms. You can learn all about it.

I hear it all the time. I don't hear "yinz" a great deal, but I hear the Pittsburgh accent everywhere I go. Plus a lot of the words and phrases that define Pittsburghese like gumband, redd up, nebby, jagoff, "jeez oh man!" or saying "put dat right der" instead of "put that right there" are spoken frequently.
It's funny, many native Pittsburghers don't even notice it or realize they have an accent until I point it out to them. I'm sure it's way more noticeable to me because I'm from out of state.

Well, I know lots of people who talk like that, including me!
i've been out here in SoCal for 3 years now, and have met a few people from Pittsburgh; they hear me talking and say "what part of Pittsburgh are you from?" Most Pittsburghers talk at least a little Pittsburghese without even realizing it.

The one I hear the most is similar to "that car needs cleaned" instead of "that car needs to be cleaned." "To be" seems to be missing in many speech patterns around here.

I just moved here a little over two years ago. When I was working on the Southside I heard it all the time. There were a few people I even had difficulty understanding because it was so strong. My inlaws also have the Pittsburgh dialect but it does not dominate their speech like some.

Well maybe since I'm a Pittsburgher, I don't notice it, but folks from out of town do. But if you look at the glossary of terms, that I posted in my original post up above, I don't hear all of that. I'll hear a yinz, a dahn-tahn, a STILLER, and a few more, but nowhere near what that glossary of terms is defining.

I've heard most of them. Some are not exclusive to Pittsburgh, however. "Monkey Wards", for example, is universal.
