But there's no diversity anywhere else either, you said, so... people's desire to live somewhere "diverse" is ultimately unachievable? There is no such thing as true "diversity" and the claim that some place is "diverse" is usually false?

I saw a website that has demographics by zip code in Pittsburgh.
Zip Code 15213 in Oakland had 12.3% Asian.
ZIp Code 15232 in Shadyside had 10.6% Asian.
Zip Code 15220 in Parkway Cent had 6.4% Asian.
Zip Code 15217 in Squirrel Hill had 5.8% Asian.
Zip Code 15238 in Blownoy had 4.5% Asian.
Zip Code 15241 in Upper St. Clair had 4% Asian.
I usually think of diversity with Asian residents...as black or latino seems to have less varity of really diverse restaurants!

Places are different. Pittsburgh has a higher percentage of blacks than Asians. Seattle has a higher percentage of Asians. Houston probably has a higher percentage of Latinos. Pittsburgh has more ethnic Slovaks than California. Slovakia has even more. People in DC have higher average incomes than those in Nebraska. We have a crazy sandwich with french fries and cole slaw, Philly has one with steak and cheese. Not every place has the same make up of people and places. It's cool. It's what makes places unique.

Anyone have any more links to a 'I Picked Pittsburgh' article? That first one on Page 1 was pretty good!

and i'd say that in a country that is 13% african american, squirrel hill being over 25% african american is pretty diverse.

Well, then I guess you could say where I grew up with 30% Italian, 30% Irish, and the rest Heinz 57 was diverse.

Where I grew up, as a boy, it was 70% gringo, 30% hispanic, a smattering of everything else. Now it is 70% hispanic, 30% gringo, a smattering of everything else. Has it become more diverse?
