We will be visiting the Zoo on Sunday. It's been at least 20 years since any of us went to the Pittsburgh Zoo, and we're eager to check out the renovated facilities. Plus, my girlfriend is a big lover of Zoos, and we don't have one here in Charlotte, NC (the closest is an hour and a half away). It also gets us back closer to downtown from Cranberry, which was a goal of mine, such that we might stop somewhere for lunch or dinner on the way home.

Any suggestions for a restaurant near the Zoo that could serve for both, depending on timing?

My parents will be visiting Narcisi Winery on Friday (we get in Saturday), They've been before but enjoy it.
How's about your shopping plans on the holiday?

If you head north, you could shop at the Outlets at Grove City, hit the winery in Volant and head just a little farther up north and hit the Wilhelm Winery near Goddard State Park (Lake Wilhelm). Every Memorial Day and Labor day holiday they have a huge tasting event where they serve free buffet style food, have live local music, a few activities for the kids and of course, plenty of free wine tasting.

My parents have a camp near the lake and I spent my childhood summers up there almost every weekend. If it is hot and you want to take a break, there is a nice (small, but nice) public beach in Stoneboro.

The Heinz History Center is really fascinating and it has a fantastic (and huge) collection of items related to the history of sports in Pittsburgh. Of all the museums in Pittsburgh, it might well be the most fun!
