Default North of Pittsburgh, where would you go????

Hi,
If you were looking to move North of Pittsburgh and still not have a LONG drive to get there, where would you live? I have been looking at Northern Allegheny County, South Butler Co, South Armstrong and South Beaver Counties.

Do any of you folks have first hand experience with these areas? I am looking for an existing home with land or just raw land to build on later. I would love more land(5-20ac's) but would be happy with 1ac if it gives me more privacy than less.

Thanks much.

A long drive to get where? Downtown Pittsburgh?

South Butler and South Beaver counties are both nice areas if you want property and lower taxes. Although with Butler County you have I-79/279 to get into Pittsburgh, congestion on that road typically slows you to a crawl approaching the city during rush hour which makes travelling from Beaver County about the same in terms of time. In Butler you have access to about everything that you'd need in Cranberry and you'd be a good way toward Moraine State Park and Lake Arthur which are ok if you like watersports.

In Beaver, you might be able to find good property with views of the Ohio River Valley which, unless you are from the Great Plains, can be pretty impressive.

It all depends upon what you are looking for.
