My wife and I are buying a house in Ross township.... near Babcock and McKnight Road intersection (southern one). We have 2 young kids that will be 4 and 2 in September. Does anyone have any recommendations/experience for daycare nearby? Does North Hills School District offer Pre-K?

Any advice much appreciated.

Perhaps this response is coming too late to help, but I do know the area you're describing and have looked into several childcare options. TenderCare on McKnight is very close, and they offer after-school programming with bus service to/from Ross Elementary. McKnight United Methodist offers preschool and drop-in child care though the NAECE-accredited St. Paul's Preschool program, which operates its main site at a different location further north. Mt. Alvernia is in Millvale and is about 8 minutes away from your new home, and it offers day care and Montessori preschool but bussing only to Shaler school district for before/after school programs. It has a beautiful campus. North Hills SD does not offer pre-k that I know of, but through the YMCA, it offers before and after school care at some of its elementary locations (Ross included).

Default Childcare

My sister has sent her kids to St. Paul's on Fergueson (in Ross/McCandless). I can't get over what they accomplish in a short period with these kids. It has won PA awards. She lived in West View and it wasn't a bad commute through back roads.
