Default Butler County, Pa.

Hi All,
In the other thread I asked for comments on several counties. Hopefully folks will tell me something.

In my quick survey so far, looks like Butler County might be a nice place to live. Any thoughts or comments?

How's the commute to the airport area of Pittsburgh?

Any decent rentals/apartments in the area that I could base out of until I figure the region out?

Butler County is pretty rural except for the area around Cranberry Township. Cranberry is probably the best place for rentals. It's located close to I-79 with easy access to the airport (30-40 minutes.)

Southern Butler County is becoming more sub-urban, and so is the western part of the county along the I-79 corridor. Northern Butler County is the most rural with small-town atmosphere, but it will require a drive for services. Most of the apartment complexes are in the Cranberry area, which grew because three major highways intersect there: I-79, PA Turnpike, and Route 19.

Unless you're living right near Cranberry the commute to the airport is going to be brutal. Even in Cranberry it's a haul, but at least you're near I79.

I abhor Butler, but I believe I've summed that up here before.
