Since there seems to be a lot of negative posts regarding Pittsburgh I thought I'd make a thread about one of the areas where Pittsburgh shines, It's bridges! Name what you consider to be your top 5 bridges in Pittsburgh, here are mine:

5. Birminghan
4.West End
3. George Westinghouse
2. Hot Metal

5. 10th Street

Also the Three Sisters, and 40th St bridges are nice. And the two stone arch bridges over Washington Ave. Really most of them. :-)

You've got an excellent list already, and I hate to narrow it down to five. So instead, I am going to completely ignore your rules and just throw out some more bridges worth consideration for this list (in no particular order):

(1) The Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Street bridges, aka "The Three Sisters", taken as a set;

(2) Fort Pitt, mostly for the view;

(3) The intersecting Lincoln Avenue Bridge and Brilliant Cutoff Viaduct, again taken as a set;

(4) Panther Hollow Bridge--just a pretty and historic bridge in a nice setting, good for walking over or under. Edit: And if you want to put this bridge in a set with the Schenley Bridge, that would be fine too.

I kinda like that people are saying the Birmingham. Usually it's referred to as the "green monster" because it's so large and out of place, but I like it, too. Especially when you come around the bend on inbound 376 and it shows up with the skyline behind it...

Thats why I love it, it's a real eye catcher, it sits real high and has that beautiful big aqua arch. Not too many people really appreciate that bridge.
