Pittsburgh Fireworks
We have only been living here in Pittsburgh for 3 months, and we'd like to see the fireworks tonight. The problem is that we don't want to get in the mess of traffic downtown that is sure to follow. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good place to watch them that's not so crowded?

I think we are going to go to Frank Curto Park off of Bigelow Boulevard (Route 380).

We prefer Hampton Township's fireworks. You can see them from anywhere on the high school property since it's a fairly flat plateau. We like to sit in the baseball field.

To put it simply, anywhere with a good view of Downtown should have a good view of the fireworks. Personally I'm disappointed that they aren't using Zembelli this year. I hope this new company is spectacular.

the traffic downtown wont be that bad. it is a weekend evening. forrester street in greenfield is my favorite spot to watch. it has a perfect view of downtown, oakland, and you can even see mt. lebanon's fireworks from there. it's a hidden gem. it never really gets crowded- only about 20 people showed up last year

I have to agree. In over 20 years of fireworks, these were the best ever.

I'll third that! One of the best fireworks shows I've ever seen. They really need more portajohns down there though for that huge crowd... 25 minutes in line is a bit ridiculous...
