Default Buyers Agent for Pittsburgh City Area?

I'm from a bit out of town and am looking to relocate. I've contacted realtors directly with little response, so I'm thinking I need representation.. But I looked up a list of ABR's and there are SO MANY and I can't simply judge by the hairstyle.. Does anyone have any recs of people they have worked with? Thanks!

Tamara Davis of Coldwell Banker in Shadyside. I had to back out of two houses before the one I ultimately bought and she was a huge help throughout the whole process. I had to call her awhile after the sale, and was almost apologetic since I had bugged her so much for months, and she said she was my agent for life!

I know a guy named Brad Amper who oversees the Keller Williams office in Robinson. He could match you with someone to work with (they don't have to stay in the Robinson area).

what area are you looking to buy in? Not all buyer's agents are familiar with all neighborhoods.

I agree with Kramhorse. Depending on what neighborhoods you want to look at should determine what realtors you should consider. I would also only consider a realtor who is relatively active. For example, I would choose one who has 10 listings as opposed to one who has one and has another job.

Thanks a lot! I am working with someone now which sort of resulted from the post on this board, but in a round about way. I think a lot of my problem is I'm not EXACTLY sure what area I'm looking in.. north, south, east, west... But I'm meeting with my new realtor this weekend so hopefully it works out!
