Default Moving for Carnegie Mellon RI with 3 young children... School district questions

We will be moving to the area and was interested in learning more about the school districts. We currently live in Indiana where the kids attend a private christian school but with my husband entering for his PhD I will be the only one working, as a registered nurse, and we need to find a good school district with affordable housing. We are not opposed to renting or buying but would need affordable. Schools are extremely important for our children. Please help with what you know.

Fox Chapel School District is the closest school district to CMU with great schools.

It's a suburb across the Allegheny river from the CMU area.

Your husband's commute to school would be 15 minutes.

Since most of our top hospitals are in the same area, chances are you will have a reasonable commute too.

We've got lots of good school districts (and some good schools in the Pittsburgh School District). So it would help if you could give us an idea of what you are looking for in terms of housing at what price (rent or purchase), and then we could narrow it down for you.

Fox Chapel School District is the closest to CMU, and it has neighborhoods that fit every price range.
