House near Mt.Washington Area
I am planning to sign the lease for a house in Mt.Washington area just down the street near the incline.
I would like to know if this place is safe to live and walk around in the evenings?
Any Advice is greatly advised....
Thanks in advance.....

Near which incline? If you mean near the Duquesne Incline (which is near the Grandview restaurants like Le Mont, etc.) then it should be fine. If you mean the Mon Incline (at the other end of Grandview, by the overlook platforms), then it should also be fine, except it depends upon your definition of "just down the street". If it's south of Virginia Ave (if necessary check your address on Google maps or such, obviously it's not a good idea to just post it online), I start to feel more hesitation, I would say.
I used to live on Kearsarge St, and I walked around in the evening without feeling troubled. I think there's still a Foodland on Virginia Ave, and I had no trouble walking over there, and hopefully you won't either. :-)

Not to sound rude but you should check these things out before you rent or buy....I tell people ALL THE TIME........visit the area a few times day and nite weekday and weekend..
I do wish you the best in your new home and get a good alarm system regardless because most thief's are going to rob in a good area more so in a bad!

Cohassett St is very short and starts at Grandview, so I can't imagine what would be wrong there. The worst thing that happens might be noise because you're near the restaurants/bars and all, but it's not like it's the South Side. ;-) Oh, and maybe issues with street parking; it'll help if you have off-street parking of some kind. I haven't spent a lot of time in that area, but I would expect many people in that vicinity own their houses.
Last two replies, did you notice the OP said "planning to sign the lease"? Looks like this was exactly what you suggested, checking up before you rent. So go easy, they're doing this in the proper order. :-)
