I was told that Hampton, Pine Richard, North Allegheny, Fox Chapel are all good district, maybe North Allegheny is the best among them.

However according to newsweek 2009 ranking, North Hill high school even ranked higher than NA senior high school.

You must have already narrowed down that you want to live North of Pittsburgh.

Aside from having schools with good reputations, the districts above are solid upper middle class districts. The person suggesting these districts must have thought you wanted to live in an upper middle class area with newer housing developments.

North Hills is an excellent school district. It simply has a lot of older homes. It's mostly middle class with some lower class and upper middle class. Since the district has a large retail business sector, it has a significant amount of revenue even though the houses aren't as expensive. North Hills also has the advantage of being very convenient for commuting downtown.

Thanks for the reply. That's very helpful!

I do want to choose the best school district for my kid. Just saw a pretty new house with not that high price in Ross Twp and began to be interested in North Hill school district.

As I said, it's a very good school district. If you like the house and it's a great price, I say buy it!
