even though there's not a ton of discussion in this thread, really interesting to see people's progressions through neighborhoods & towns! keep em coming!

it would be interesting if people added why they moved and what their places were like. i'll start:

point breeze - my then boyfriend, now husband & i moved from nyc to rent a place with friends from here. first floor and basement of a beautiful old mansion, amazing landlady. we were in the basement though and had 4 roommates, 3 of whom had girlfriends who usually stayed over. lived there a few months.
south side slopes - we wanted to live with less people and not in a basement, moved in with another couple. weird skinny row house on a block with loud kids in the morning, loud yinzers in the afternoon, loud college students at night. landlord was a slumlord, roaches, ick. lived there a few months, sorta skipped out on our lease.
greenfield - south side slopes were horrible, the house we rented was horrible, one half of the couple we lived with was cheating on the other half. we moved by ourselves. first floor apartment in a 2 unit building, very nice place, nice landlord, consistently bad next door neighbors on one side. first it was a family that yelled a lot, then an assemblage of sketchy young people who had big screaming party/fights at all hours. oh and at least one of them was a white power skinhead, fun! lived there about 3 years.
squirrel hill - we got robbed by some friend of our horrible next door neighbor in greenfield (and he told us the neighbor put him up to it) and were too skeeved out to stay, especially since my husband was travelling a lot at the time. greenfield was nice otherwise, don't get me wrong! 2nd floor apartment in a 2 unit building, deck, super nice landlord. it was loud though - right next to the highway. also a year or so in the nice quiet older lady downstairs moved out and we had a succession of bad (loud & messy) neighbors, including the landlord's daughter. lived there about 3 years.
wilkinsburg - bought a house, 2400 sq foot victorian in need of a ton of work. no regrets, 2 years later.
