Asian Population statistics in Pittsburgh
I saw a website that has demographics by zip code in Pittsburgh.
Zip Code 15213 in Oakland had 12.3% Asian.
ZIp Code 15232 in Shadyside had 10.6% Asian.
Zip Code 15220 in Parkway Cent had 6.4% Asian.
Zip Code 15217 in Squirrel Hill had 5.8% Asian.
Zip Code 15238 in Blownoy had 4.5% Asian.
Zip Code 15241 in Upper St. Clair had 4% Asian.
It appears to not be too bad...as they are generally portrayed to be nearly non-existant in the 'Burg.

Not sure if 4% is considered a lot or not, but there are quite a few Asian families on my street in USC.

Its all depends where you are in the Pittsburgh area; On the North Side, I'm seriously the only Asian most of the folks I live around or work with know, but over on S. Craig St. near CMU, most times of the day I'd be in the majority.

If people are curious about baselines for comparison, the U.S. as a whole is about 4.5% Asian, Pennsylvania is about 2.4%, and Allegheny County is about 2.5%.

The vast majority of Asians in Pittsburgh are students, there is no real Asian community in Pittsburgh.

According to the 2008 American Community Survey conducted by the Census, there were an estimated 35685 Asians in the Pittsburgh Metro Area, of which 3218 were in college, 3571 in graduate or professional school. So that is an estimated 19% of the Asian population which is made up of college or graduate students.
Edit: I had to go to the combined 2005-2007 ACS to get a large enough sample size for the Census to report the same figures for the City of Pittsburgh. From this sample, for the City they estimated a total Asian population of 10906, of which 4302 were in college or graduate school, so that is an estimated 39%.

Good thing I was talking about Pittsburgh and not the Pittsburgh metro area huh?
There is no Asian community in Pittsburgh, the closest to such is the student population.

This claim is false whether you are talking about the Pittsburgh Metro or the City of Pittsburgh.

My initial comment would have been more accurately stated as "The majority of Asians in Pittsburgh are associated with the universities". But the result is the same regardless, Pittsburgh has no Asian community. There is not even a single authentic Asian restaurant in the city, or anything that even comes particularly close.

I find the notion that being associated with a university in any way means you cannot be a part of the local community quite strange.
Anyway, given the falsity of user_id's more easily verifiable claims, I will leave it to others to draw conclusions with respect to the credibility of his or her other claims.
