My family plays Knock Gin Rummy -- 11 cards dealt, but you hold them in your hand and make runs and suites like normal. But you can "knock" (and we do rap our knuckles on the table) -- when you are down to one or two low numbered cards, and hope the others have more points than your knock cards.

I was just home and Mom and I played one night, and three times in a row she knocked, and I pulled a completer card off the draw pile and won. We were hysterical!

I think it is nice and good to sit around and play these games instead of computer games like xbox playstation....something about classique board and card games is just more intimate and more social

I love to play 500, and am looking for a game. I am in the East End of Pittsburgh. I used to play with my folks and partner, but sadly they are all gone.

I can't wait to host my first "board game and Mineo's Pizza night" here in my little corner of Da 'Burgh! I'm thinking Apples to Apples, Scattergories, Cranium, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, and maybe some of my PC games like Jeopardy, Price is Right, Life, and Wheel of Fortune.

When I went to CCAC in the 90s all the kids would hang out in the rec room and play spades religiously. If you played with them and you made a wrong move (as if you had to read your partner's mind as to whatever on earth they were doing) you would be chastitzed. That happened to me once or twice and didn't understand the game or why the drama. Never played or cared again.

I like Trivial Pursuit, but the pop culture ones (TV, movies, music, 80s.) You know, the easy ones, lol

Bid Whist was our game back when I was in college. Spades was another Bridge type game that was popular.

Your friends sound like my family. Way too serious when playing Pinochle, I haven't played it in years. I prefer Poker, no team-mates.
