I am looking at a home on Rodi Road to buy. Can anyone tell me anything about this area?

It's a busy highway in a commercial retail district.

It's unbelievably busy and only two lanes. We work out at the Bally's Gym on Rodi Road. It's hard to make left hand turns anywhere on that road.

Yeah, it turns into a four lane highway just down the road. All that traffic gets bottlenecked in the two lane stretch.

Does anyone know if that discount bookstore is still down on Rodi Rd? I worked for another one in Greensburg and they were run by the same company until someone bought us out.

I would NOT buy a house on Rodi Road at all. That road is busy 24 hours a day and it would be impossible to back your car out of one of those driveways., not to mention that all of the traffic noise would keep you up all night long. The traffic is jammed starting at 4:00pm all the way until about 7:00pm. The fire station is at the top of Rodi Road and you will hear the sirens day and night. There are many other nice homes to purchase in Penn Hills than on Rodi Road. If you were to resell the house, you would have a very difficult time doing so.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Thank you for all of your input. The traffic is our big reservation too.

It's gone.
I tried to stop by in July.
There are several Half-Price bookstores though. One in Monroeville in the small mall across from McDonalds.
