Default Help- Directions from Pittsburgh to Fort Knox, KY

I found out at the last minute I have to pick a buddy of mine up from basic training in Fort Knox. I know I have to get on 70W and then head towards Columbus. I'm not sure after that, and map quest isn't always reliable. I'm only going to be able to leave 10 hours in advance, so I won't have time to get lost. Can anyone familiar with the drive help me out with accurate directions? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

From I-70 west, just east of Columbus you'll get on I-270 south toward Cincinnati, and then I-71 south. I-71 will take you through Cincinnati (not a big deal unless it's rush hour), and in downtown Cincinnati merges with I-75. You'll stay on I-71/75 for 20 miles or so, and then I-71 splits off toward Louisville and Fort Knox. Hop on I-265 when you get to Louisville, and then I-65 south, and you're there.

Not sure how long it will take. Pittsburgh to Cincinnati should take 5 hours or so; it's another 90 minutes to 2 hours to Louisville, depending on traffic.

Drive safely!

Thanks a lot! for the help. I have to leave at midnight tonight and there won't be many places open to ask for directions if I screw up with a map. I followed ohiogirl's directions on a map and they seem to be the shortest distance. I'm still going to take the map and trip ones as a backup just in case. Thanks again
