Default Most Annoying Thread Ever

Hi All:

Bored this lovely Saturday, so began surfing around to my favorite city data boards (started here, of course ). I then headed over to the Bozeman, Montana site, and saw this:

How to NOT ruin Montana if you move here

It slayed me. In this post, an Ex-Vermonter recently-turned Montanan provides exceedingly insightful advice to other posters about how not to ruin Montana. I think it had to be one of the most annoying posts I have ever seen, with the irony lost on the poor sod. Justice is served up deliciously....Enjoy!

So,what are the most pig-headed, delusional, inane, or self-righteous threads you have seen on this or other fine city data boards you visit. Ok, all that were NOT posted by Fiddlehead. I should say I have no reason to post it here other than that I think folks here are a crackup. Nominations please?

Look back in the archives and you will some red hot fights over suburban/urban stuff -- I think we finally had to let it go because you can't change people's minds about city living vs suburban living vs ruralish living.

For a while a few years ago I think we managed to get one person kicked off a day! And some bad trolling.... and threads removed -- a lot of my rep point threads are GONE....

He's asking for us to share similar experiences we've had with people who have done the same to Pittsburgh.

(((((Tallysmom)))))

I'll just have to help rectify that after I spread some love around!

Not sure you should be naming names. Yac won't like that.

No worries Hopes (and Yac),

I had that coming. Though I will say it is not a very artful shot. Too easy.

I was not singling anyone out for scorn. I was just assuming people, like me and Tiger Beer, might frequent a number of boards, and have stumbled over something funny like that Montana thread. I don't know that Vermont person at all, but the thread was so absurd it cracked me up.

If pointing something out would mean personal flaming, I think it would be better if we just let this one fade.

I didn't mean you. Scott's the one who named names.

Yep, each forum has their own flavor as well.

I also appreciate the mods of the Pittsburgh Forum allow a few of these kinds of threads. Some forums they quickly shut them down.

Kind of a fine line to play for mods, what is acceptable conversation and what isn't. Then if a person doesn't like the kind of threads, for example Scott, then puts the mod in a position to possibly pull them altogether.

I actually enjoy the chemistry over here on the Pittsburgh Forum, and I'm real interested in Pittsburgh as well.

Also, since Scran-Barre was singled out...I have to admit I quite like his participation, as I've seen him on other boards as well. I like his enthusiasm for Pittsburgh, and I share it, and interesting to read others with a similar mindset.

Sometimes I view the Rhode Island forum, (they got cool looking houses but in a different way)...but fairly dull posting over there. Each forum has it's own chemistry/flavor.

Speaking of Montana, and I noticed Idaho and New Hamphire as well, they all have that 'element' to them. This, 'please don't want us to change by moving here' theme...or you must blend it themes...funny how varied (making it quite interesting) each part of the country is.

By the way, I also think 'New Mexico' is a real interesting forum in general. The types of people NM attracts and such, very interesting forum. I've been to NM a few times and I personally find it more interesting 'in the mind' than actually being there. But still, the kinds of people it attracts is very interesting.
