There's a Popeye's on the South Side too. Across the street from the plaza that houses the Giant Eagle.

I agree. We do need more Latino flavor in this city.

I also live in Wilkinsburg, and although it is far from the tragic ghetto the news likes to portray it as, it is also no picket fence town. AND, I definitely see parts of Wilkinsburg that are severely segregated; there's a "nice" section and a "don't go there" section, and they overwhelming white and black, respectively. And I live somewhere in between.

I see people cringe when I tell them where I live. I've heard other people ask residents "WHY on earth would you want to live there?". And I always have to defend it; I love my neighborhood and I love my neighbors. That said, it has a long way to go, and I wish it were safer and supplied more people with better education and more jobs and job training, with lower property taxes, so other people would want to move here.

but THAT would be racist - imagine the news going to a 'better' area of Wilkinsburg. what would they report on? the simple fact that that is a good place to settle into and buy a home, even though its black? thats like saying "see, they ARENT all in ghetto areas...back to you, Hank".
