Butler Street in Lawrenceville is my favorite street view! Lots of charm and mom 'n pop shops. (I'm a little biased because I live here).

Less a specific street than a general sentiment--using Street View you can take tours of Pittsburgh's currently economically depressed neighborhoods and see the fairly high fundamental quality of homes in some of these neighborhoods dating back to their better days. For example, here is a random block in Homewood full of what I would consider fundamentally solid brick American Foursquares:

pittsburgh - Google Maps

Of course you can do that in person too, but people look at you funny if you suggest they take a real world tour of places like Homewood.

Here is a cool street where you can view a cool panorama of both the Downtown and Oakland Skylines:

First time I've google viewed Butler Street...actually that street looks absolutely fine. Somehow I got the idea it was a lot more grittier or decrepid. Looks fine - actually it looks like a pleasant downtown street you'd see in any Main Street U.S.A., but much longer...

Here is another one: Josephine St, pittsburgh - Google Maps This I believe in Southside Slopes? I like this street like Josephine and others...windy into the hills and wooded all around...yet still view of the city and close proximity to walkable areas...amazing..and seemingly commonplace around Pittsburgh.

I just viewed "OVERLOOK DRIVE" (by SewickleyPA)...just saw it posted as I was creating this post...cool and similar...and I just stumbled upon Naylor Street and Saline Street nearby with houses dotted among those wooded hilly areas from there...looks really cool too. I'd love to live somewhere like that...wow, that IVANDALE Street looks interesting...look at this ECCENTRIC HOUSE...and if you view around and see the view overlooking the hills, forest and other houses...wow: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...9.35,,0,-12.36 Looks like something out of Appalachia...but to me, kind of romantically image/view...

Default Ellsworth

I like this one at the end of Ellsworth looking over the busway from Shadyside at ever changing East Liberty. You get the sense why East Liberty was highly regarded at one time. Ellsworth is a neat little street if you scroll west. This was taken at the easternmost point of Ellsworth.

Nice thread!

Oh cool! I noticed that Burns and Scalo Real Estate has a three story building for sale at College and Ellsworth. The bottom floor is for retail. Do you think $100,000.00 will do?

You just allowed me to discover 'greenfield'...I love that entire area where it meets the mountains...looking at Overview Drive made me explore that entire area. Plus proxity to Oakland & Squirrel Hill...wow.

It's on the hill of the Meixcian War Streets area. I googled it because I recognized the name, but couldn't remember where it was.
