No, that's a message board for raves. I would steer clear of it.

There is quite a good electronic music scene here if you're into certain types. You just have to know where to go, because the events are more promoter-based than club-based. They skip around all the time to different venues and the crowd follows a certain "sound". It's actually a very knowledgeable scene. If you can tell me what types of electronic you're into I can make better suggestions.

With that said, there apparently is an all-electronic club opening soon called "Static" that will cater to the more commercial, "big room" type sounds. I don't believe their website is launched yet (staticpgh.com), but their Facebook page has been very active: Static PGH - Club - Pittsburgh, PA | Facebook

It looks like their grand opening is July 9th. Time will tell how it goes. As good as Pittsburgh's electronic scene is, the city hasn't done too well with recent attempts at opening electronic-only venues.

Whoops. Didn't even notice that. Glad I wasted my energy.

There was a post before mine that has been obviously deleted as that was the one I responded to, not the one from 2009. I don't revive old threads. LOL!

ELECTRONIC] + SUN., JULY 3
Pittsburgh is no stranger to an electronic-music subculture, but for years, that subculture remained below the fold. Last year, VIA created a major electronic-music festival for the city; this year, a team of promoters who have been around the block in the electronic-dance realm have pulled together to create the Pittsburgh Electronic Music Festival. The fest, at Stage AE, features headliners MSTRKRFT and Excision, special guests Designer Drugs and Mux Mool, and local support from Comic Stripps and Nice Nate. Two afterparties, free with a festival ticket, follow (at Mr. Small's and Brillobox). Kate Magoc 5 p.m. 400 North Shore Dr., North Side. $30-35. All ages. 412-229-5483
