Default Pittsburgh 15 day forecast

AccuWeather.com - Pittsburgh, PA - 15 Day Weather Forecast - Local Weather Forecasts (http://www.accuweather.com/us/pa/pittsburgh/15241/forecast-15day.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0&zipchg=1& metric=0 - broken link)

This snow may all be history in a week. I like the looks of that forecast. It takes us to near the end of January. February is no picnic. The good news, around February 15, the average high starts to climb from 35 degrees F to 40 degrees by March 1. Thirty-five degrees Fahrenheit holds steady from mid December until mid February as an average high in Pittsburgh. Newcomers may not believe it, but Pittsburgh's average high is above freezing by a few degrees in the heart of winter. We have been well below normal for several weeks except for a few days here and there. We deserve this forecast.

I'd rather have the freezing cold and snow than the cold rain and ice that's in that forecast

I hate 35-45 and rain, absolutely bone chilling and it makes everything look so nasty!

i may be off here, but i don't believe the OP was celebrating rain and cold weather...

if i'm picking up what the OP was throwing down, it was the gradual warmer weather coming to town, as opposed to the buttass coldness and snow that we've been seeing. i'm not from around here, but from what i've read, this has been an unusually cold and snowy winter compared to the past years...

Weather beyond a few days out is pretty iffy, especially where precipitation and such is concerned. But, the forecast for this weekend with decent 40 degree days on Thursday and Friday and clear through the weekend looks a lot better than it did a few days ago. Before they were calling for snow, sleet, etc. on a couple of those warmer days.

Watch out for flooding with the melting snow.

I just hope we don't get freezing rain on top of the snow already on the ground.

Remember last year? It was dangerous to walk in my yard because the snow turned to ice.

Winter in the Burgh is just a mess. I used to HATE winter. Now that I'm in Minnesota it stays cold and nothing melts or becomes messy. No slush or icy precipitation. I actually enjoy winter now.

There is a difference that makes winter and even the real cold tollerable, it's called consistency. In Pittsburgh the weather is consistantly changing all winter long. Who can get used to that?

I'd rather be a snowbird and leave for the winter. Traveling around is such a mess and can be dangerous.

I tend to agree with this. I've really enjoyed the weather here since about Christmas. It's stayed below freezing with lots of snow. Feels like winter and looks beautiful outside. I'm not looking forward to the approaching 40's and see the snow melt away in the day and then refreeze overnight. Then we'll get ugly days of rain or a wintry mix. Bring on more snow and cold!
