I just wondered if anyone new the names of some clubs or small concert halls in Pittsburgh that have metal bands sometimes so I can add them to my watch list. I like the places that have the up and coming underground stuff but places that have the more popular bands are ok too.

If you have a myspace link or a link in general that would be great too.
I know of Mr. Smalls and The Smiling Moose currently, just trying to find some more. Thanks.

31st Street Pub, Howler's Cafe, Belvederes.

Just walk down Carson street looking for flyers and you'll see all kinds of stuff.

Here's a good site that tracks music (and many other forms of entertainment) in Pittsburgh:

Search Results - Music - TribLIVE.com

They keep the calandar pretty current, and you can refine your searches. I have found lots of good bands using this site.

Some well-known local metal bands are Mantic Ritual, Oh ****...They're Going to Kill Us, and Argus.

Ask around for Mikey the Pants. Every underground metal/doom metal/crossover/crust show seems to be put on by him. His flyers always say the cost of the show and then "Filthy American Dollars".

Diesel on the South Side usually has metal shows once in a while. There was also another place in Wilkinsburg called the Roboto Project which would host various punk and metal shows but I don't know if it's still around.

roboto is still around, but they are closing their space in wilkinsburg next month and hopefully re-opening a couple of months later in a new space in garfield, on penn ave.

there is actually a really good metal-ish show there on february 27, which i think will be the last show in that space.

The Mr. Roboto Project - Saturday Febuary 27th - ENDLESSBLOCKADE - WARZONE WOMYN - XBRAINIAX - PARALYZER
