Default If ..you like the city alot...but need a little country

1....the driving through the squirrel hill tunnels on 376 will take you past the suburbs...
go Monroeville exit to BOYce Park...or check out the

ORRR..this is still city too the southside wharf and landing..the river isnt as bad as it used to be,not exactly clean enough for swimming..warning and alot of wakes too.. that is for boating ..
2.the best place to go is Fox chapel..there's a boat club...take 28 to the Fox chapel exit...
3.We used to drive up RT. 65 to go to the Beaver river, that's alot further, but the water is very clean for boating..
4.I know alot of people go to East Brady up pass New Castle on 79 that is about 1 hr in 1/2 - 2 hours..alot people own camps like some of us
5. There's Lake ERIE too...3# hours north..takes you into Canada..

We moved here from Washington State after my husband retired from the military aned were in a very similar situation to yours. We ended up getting a short term lease on a property that had been on the market awhile in Indiana township. The owner was paying out of pocket for two mortgages and was more than eager to rent it out for a bit. We arranged for a 4 month lease and have used the time to look for a house to buy. Indiana township may be an area that would appeal to you. We have a disabled adult son and needed to be a bit closer to stores, shops etc so he can walk there on his own so it does not work for us in the long term. We just bought in Gibsonia and are due to close at the end of July.
Our real estate agents have been fantastic (team of two) in helping us deal with our situation. They helped with finding the rental and subsequently the house we are buying. I would be happy to give you their names. They do specialize in north market though. We actually met them at a open house in Aspinwall. Good luck to you!

Default taxes are not bad in Indiana Township

We were shopping for the best school district...Fox chapel area and literally ran into indiana township by accident...we still had access to all of Fox Chapel and the great things it offered.

Thanks for sharing that, pghgirl!

Ive been pushing Indiana and O'Hara townships for quite a while. They are definitely more affordable, but still within the great school district of Fox Chapel!
